What is a “wart”?

Warts are a skin infection caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). The virus penetrates through an injury to the skin, e.g. B. a cut into the body. It then forms a rough bump on the surface of the skin. Warts are benign (non-cancerous) growths.

What different types of warts are there?

The hands : These warts are called common warts because they are the most common type. 

Face : Flat warts appear on the face and forehead. 

Feet : Plantar warts appear on the soles of the feet. These warts look like calluses with tiny black dots in the middle. They are often painful and appear in clusters.

What are skin warts?

A cutaneous shield is a small, soft, benign skin growth that often sits on a stalk. It is probably the most common bump on adult skin. Skin tags are harmless but can be annoying and usually appear on the eyelids, neck, armpits, groin folds and under the breasts. A person can have one to hundreds of skin tags.
